Several premium cards confer Avis President's Club status (Amex Platinum, Capital One Venture X) which adds a guaranteed upgrade plus free additional driver. Booking via a card's travel portal earns the portal bonus rate but may forfeit Avis Preferred earnings and direct-booking promo codes.
