Avis is one of the three large U.S. car-rental brands, sister company to Budget under Avis Budget Group. Rentals code as car rentals on every card we track. Several premium cards confer Avis President's Club status (Amex Platinum, Capital One Venture X) which adds a guaranteed upgrade plus free additional driver. Booking via a card's travel portal earns the portal bonus rate but may forfeit Avis Preferred earnings and direct-booking promo codes.
