Bilt Retires 4% Bilt Cash for New Cards
Bilt announced on October 27, 2026 that it is retiring the option to earn 4% back in Bilt Cash on everyday card spend for cardholders approved in 2027. Bilt Cash now expires 12 months after it is earned, and Palladium's $200 Bilt Cash and $400 hotel credits become one $600 Bilt Cash credit paid on the card anniversary.
Business Platinum Narrows Wireless, Shipping
Starting February 17, 2027, The Business Platinum Card from American Express will limit its $10 monthly wireless credit to 11 named carriers, including Verizon, AT&T and T-Mobile. Its 2x points on U.S. shipping will only apply to purchases made directly with UPS, FedEx, USPS, Auctane, DHL, Worldwide Express and Old Dominion Freight Line.

Starting January 1, 2027, Fine Hotels + Resorts bookings also need a two-night minimum for the credit.

Bilt added JetBlue TrueBlue as its 27th transfer partner on October 20, 2026, at a 1:1 ratio. Transfers run in 1,000 point increments, with a 2,000 point minimum for members at Blue status and 1,000 for everyone else. Bilt says transfers complete almost instantly once a TrueBlue account is linked.

Citi added up to $200 a year in inKind dining credits to the Citi AAdvantage Executive card on October 25, 2026, split into $100 for January through June and $100 for July through December. The first $100 is usable now through December 31, 2026, after linking the card in the inKind app.

Amex Stops Auto-Pooling Points on New Cards
Under its October 2026 Membership Rewards terms, American Express now puts points from a newly opened card into a separate Membership Rewards account by default instead of combining them with existing points. Cardholders can link accounts through the Manage Connections option in the Amex app or website.
Safeway Launches forU Amex Card With Imprint
Safeway and Imprint launched the Safeway forU American Express card, a no annual fee card issued by First Electronic Bank. It earns 5% back on Albertsons Companies online and app orders, 3% in store on grocery and pharmacy, 3% on gas, dining, utilities and streaming, and 1% on everything else. New cardholders get $50 after $1,000 in spending within 90 days.
Southwest Card SUBs Lose Companion Pass Credit
Starting January 1, 2027, Southwest will award Companion Pass benefits based on Tier Qualifying Points, and Rapid Rewards card welcome bonuses, anniversary points and bonus-category points will no longer count. Card purchases will earn 1 TQP per $1. Unlimited Companion Pass trips will take 140,000 TQPs or 100 qualifying one-way flights, and passes earned in 2026 stay valid through December 31, 2027.
United Ties Starter PQPs to Its Credit Cards
United told MileagePlus members on October 13, 2026 that the 2027 starter Premier Qualifying Points deposit goes only to members who hold an eligible United credit card, with accounts opened by December 31, 2026 qualifying. The deposit equals 5% of each tier's threshold, such as 300 PQPs for Silver and 900 for Platinum. Flight segments also stop counting toward status in 2027.
Chase Moving Some OG Freedom Cards to Unlimited
Chase is notifying some holders of the original Chase Freedom card that their accounts will be converted to Freedom Unlimited by November 20, 2026, according to Doctor of Credit. The 5% rotating categories end with the switch, while existing rewards carry over and the account number stays the same. Cardholders who want to keep rotating categories can ask Chase for a Freedom Flex instead.
Aeroplan Points Cover Annual Fee at 2 Cents
Chase raised the Pay Yourself Back rate for the Air Canada Aeroplan card's annual fee from 1.25 cents to 2 cents per point as of October 4, 2026, according to Doctor of Credit. Covering the new $195 fee now takes 9,750 points instead of 15,600. The 1.25-cent rate on travel purchases is unchanged through December 31, 2026.
Capital One Relaunches Discover it Secured
Capital One reopened applications for the Discover it Secured card on October 5, 2026, now called the Discover it Secured Cash Back Credit Card. Refundable deposits start at $49 for a credit line of at least $200, with no annual fee, 5% rotating categories and first-year Cashback Match. Applications had been paused since June 2, 2026.
Amex Business Gold Swaps FedEx Credit for UPS
The American Express Business Gold card's up to $20 monthly flexible business credit now covers shipments at UPS.com instead of FedEx, as of October 1, 2026. Grubhub and U.S. office supply store purchases still qualify, and enrollment is still required.
Bilt Hyatt Transfers Drop to 4:3 in 2027
Starting January 1, 2027, Bilt points will transfer to World of Hyatt at 4:3 instead of 1:1, so 1,000 Bilt points will become 750 Hyatt points. The change applies to all members and all Bilt cards, including Palladium. Transfers at 1:1 continue through December 31, 2026.
Chase Launches $350 IHG Premier Select Card
Chase and IHG launched the IHG One Rewards Premier Select card with a $350 annual fee, a 60,000-point anniversary free night and up to $300 a year in IHG dining credits. The three existing IHG cards were refreshed: the Premier fee rises from $99 to $150 and the renamed Business card goes to $200, with existing cardholders seeing new fees in 2027.
Chase Hyatt Transfers Drop to 4:3 on October 1
Starting October 1, 2026, Chase Sapphire Preferred and Ink Business Preferred cardholders who opened their accounts before June 15 will transfer Ultimate Rewards to World of Hyatt at 4:3 instead of 1:1. Sapphire Reserve and Sapphire Reserve for Business keep the 1:1 ratio. Transfers still run in 1,000 point increments.
BofA Points Will Transfer to Atmos in 2027
Alaska Airlines said on September 29, 2026 that customers with eligible Bank of America card products will be able to transfer points into Atmos Rewards in 2027. Alaska also plans to refresh the Atmos Rewards Visa Business Card in late 2026 with 10x on purchases through Atmos Rewards for Business, lounge passes and free same day confirmed changes.
U.S. Bank Launches Two Business Cash Cards
U.S. Bank launched the Business Essentials Visa and Business Essentials Plus Visa Signature on September 28, 2026. Both earn a flat 2% cash back, rising to 2.5% and 3.5% with qualifying business checking balances. The no annual fee Essentials offers $500 after $5,000 in 150 days, and the $295 Plus adds 5% on its top category up to $200,000 a year with a $1,000 bonus after $15,000.
Venmo Card Drops Top Category for Fixed 3%
The Venmo Credit Card has replaced its automatic 3% top category and 2% second category with fixed 3% rates on dining, entertainment and Pay with Venmo purchases, plus an extra 1% on split dining and entertainment bills. Groceries, gas and travel now earn 1%. Doctor of Credit reported the change on September 25, 2026 and says existing cardholders keep the old structure for now.
