Vrbo is the second-largest U.S. vacation-rental marketplace after Airbnb, owned by Expedia Group. Bookings code as travel on every card we track and as hotels on a few. Unlike Airbnb, Vrbo focuses exclusively on whole-home rentals (no shared spaces). Vrbo bookings count for the Sapphire Reserve and Venture X travel-credit categories. Booking through a card's travel portal earns the portal multiplier but typically loses Vrbo Boost host-program perks.
