A 60,000 point bonus after $4,000 in three months and no foreign transaction fees make the first year easy to justify, and the $100 credit on a single Citi Travel hotel stay of $500 or more can cover the fee outright if you book that way. The limits are worth naming: everything outside those categories earns a flat 1x, the hotel credit fires on just one qualifying portal booking per calendar year, and the 10x rate is portal only, so booking a hotel direct drops you to 3x. It is a strong middle tier travel card rather than a premium one, and the value only shows up if your spending genuinely lands in those 3x buckets.
