Chase raised the Sapphire Preferred's signup bonus from 75,000 to 100,000 points in June, and at $5,000 of spend over three months that is an unusually low bar for a bonus that size. The everyday earn holds up too: 3 points per dollar on dining worldwide, on gas and EV charging, and on streaming, 5 points on travel booked through Chase Travel, and 2 points on all other travel, all for a $95 annual fee with no foreign transaction fees, which is a big part of why it tops our Best Travel ranking. A $100 hotel credit each anniversary year for stays booked through Chase Travel covers most of the fee on its own, and there is a $120 Global Entry, TSA PreCheck, or NEXUS credit every four years. Read the fine print on two of the 3x categories: groceries only count when bought online and exclude Target, Walmart, and wholesale clubs, and the vacation rental rate applies only to bookings made directly with brands like Airbnb, Vrbo, and Vacasa. Everything outside a category earns 1 point, so this is a travel and dining card first, not a card for general spending.
