Business Platinum Narrows Wireless, Shipping
Starting February 17, 2027, The Business Platinum Card from American Express will limit its $10 monthly wireless credit to 11 named carriers, including Verizon, AT&T and T-Mobile. Its 2x points on U.S. shipping will only apply to purchases made directly with UPS, FedEx, USPS, Auctane, DHL, Worldwide Express and Old Dominion Freight Line.

Starting October 22, 2026, The Business Platinum Card from American Express includes a complimentary membership to ZO by Tishman Speyer, with unlimited ZO Clubhouse lounge access, 4 Studio coworking day passes a month and up to $500 a year in statement credits for ZO event space or Dining Club purchases. ZO has 20+ locations in six U.S. cities.

Southwest Card SUBs Lose Companion Pass Credit
Starting January 1, 2027, Southwest will award Companion Pass benefits based on Tier Qualifying Points, and Rapid Rewards card welcome bonuses, anniversary points and bonus-category points will no longer count. Card purchases will earn 1 TQP per $1. Unlimited Companion Pass trips will take 140,000 TQPs or 100 qualifying one-way flights, and passes earned in 2026 stay valid through December 31, 2027.

Chase Moving Some OG Freedom Cards to Unlimited
Chase is notifying some holders of the original Chase Freedom card that their accounts will be converted to Freedom Unlimited by November 20, 2026, according to Doctor of Credit. The 5% rotating categories end with the switch, while existing rewards carry over and the account number stays the same. Cardholders who want to keep rotating categories can ask Chase for a Freedom Flex instead.

Aeroplan Points Cover Annual Fee at 2 Cents
Chase raised the Pay Yourself Back rate for the Air Canada Aeroplan card's annual fee from 1.25 cents to 2 cents per point as of October 4, 2026, according to Doctor of Credit. Covering the new $195 fee now takes 9,750 points instead of 15,600. The 1.25-cent rate on travel purchases is unchanged through December 31, 2026.
