Chase Points Can Now Fund Investing Accounts
Chase announced Invest Your Points on September 16, 2026, letting Sapphire, Freedom and Ink cardholders redeem Ultimate Rewards points for cash deposited into an eligible J.P. Morgan investing account. The rate is 1 cent per point, the same as a statement credit or direct deposit, so there is no bonus for choosing it.

Sapphire Reserve Business Edit Credit Doubles
Chase is doubling the Sapphire Reserve for Business annual credit for The Edit from $500 to $1,000 on January 1, 2027, paid as four statement credits of up to $250 each instead of two. Separately, the card's 3X rate on social media and search engine advertising gets a $1 million cap per account anniversary year starting November 15, 2026.

Chase Q4 5%: Grocery, Dining, Red Cross
Chase has set the Q4 2026 rotating categories for the Freedom Flex and the original Freedom: grocery stores, dining, and donations to the American Red Cross. The 5% rate covers up to $1,500 in combined purchases from October 1 through December 31. Freedom Flex holders reach 7% on dining because the quarterly bonus stacks on the card's standing 3% dining rate.

Aeroplan Card Fee Hits $195, Adds 25K Status
Chase refreshed its Air Canada Aeroplan card on September 10, 2026, raising the annual fee from $95 to $195. The card now carries automatic Aeroplan 25K status with no spending requirement, a 15% discount on eligible Air Canada award redemptions, and up to $100 a year in Air Canada statement credits. Existing cardmembers do not see the higher fee until December 1, 2026 at the earliest, based on renewal date.

Fifth Third Launches 18-Month 0% APR Card
Fifth Third announced the Truly Simple Credit Card on September 1, 2026. The Mastercard has no annual fee, no international transaction fee, and a 0% intro APR for 18 months on both purchases and balance transfers, then a variable 18.49% to 29.49%. Balance transfers cost $5 or 4% of the amount, whichever is greater. The card earns no rewards.
