Citi Strata Bonus Now Once Per Lifetime

Citi quietly rewrote the welcome bonus terms on its Strata cards on September 20, 2026. The old language barred a bonus if you had received one in the past 48 months. The new language bars a bonus if you currently have or previously had the card, making each Strata bonus a once per lifetime event.

Citi Adds Japan Airlines Transfer Partner

Citi added Japan Airlines Mileage Bank as a ThankYou transfer partner on September 20, 2026. Cards with an annual fee transfer at 1:1 and no annual fee cards transfer at 1:0.7. A 30% launch bonus runs through October 24, 2026, lifting those rates to 1,300 and 910 JAL miles per 1,000 points.

Rumor: Chase Applies 3/24 to Business Cards

Chase reconsideration agents have been telling business card applicants since September 16, 2026 that a new rule denies sole proprietors with three or more new accounts in the past 24 months, down from the long standing 5/24 threshold. Doctor of Credit and Travel on Points have both collected data points citing the same date and the same wording. Chase has not announced any change.

Sapphire Reserve Dining List Loses 28 Spots

Chase reshuffled the Sapphire Reserve Exclusive Tables roster on August 28, 2026, adding 34 restaurants and dropping 28 with no announcement. New Mexico, Salt Lake City and Tulsa are left with no participating restaurants at all. The list still covers more than 400 locations across over 50 cities, and the benefit remains a $150 statement credit twice a year.

Statement notices going out to former Barclays AAdvantage Aviator cardholders say the benefits Citi let them keep after the April 2026 conversion end on October 25, 2026. Aviator Red converts on the Citi AAdvantage Platinum Select lose a $25 annual Wi-Fi credit, and Aviator Silver converts on the Citi AAdvantage Globe lose 2X miles on hotels and car rentals, a $25 daily food and beverage credit, and a $50 annual Wi-Fi credit.
