The Business Gold earns 4x points automatically on your top two spending categories each billing cycle, drawn from six eligible buckets including U.S. advertising, electronics and software or cloud providers, restaurants, gas stations, transit, and U.S. wireless service, on up to $150,000 of combined annual spend. That automatic selection is the real appeal: you do not have to predict where your business spending will land, and for most small businesses the top two categories capture a meaningful share of the budget. The $375 annual fee is steep, but the credit stack is substantial on paper: up to $20 a month at FedEx, Grubhub, and office supply stores, $300 a year in ChatGPT credits, a monthly Walmart+ credit, and up to $150 a year back at Squarespace. Nearly all of those require enrollment and are tied to specific vendors, so run the math against your actual suppliers before assuming the fee washes out. The advertised welcome offer of as high as 200,000 points after $15,000 in three months is a real draw, though Amex is explicit that your actual offer may come in lower.
