The Quest earns its $350 annual fee through credits rather than earn rates: $200 in United TravelBank cash each year, two free checked bags, a 10,000-mile award flight discount every anniversary, and up to $150 back on prepaid Renowned Hotels stays. Stack the narrower credits (up to $180 at Instacart, $150 on JSX flights, $100 on rideshares, $80 on Avis or Budget rentals) and a regular United flyer can clear the fee several times over, but a few require annual enrollment and several only pay off if you already spend in those places. Earn rates are solid without being remarkable: 4 miles per dollar on United purchases, 2 on travel, dining, and select streaming, and 1 on everything else. Chase cut the signup bonus from 90,000 to 60,000 miles in May 2026, so the entry point is meaningfully weaker than it was a few months ago. If you fly United a few times a year and will actually use the checked bags and TravelBank credit, the math works; occasional flyers should start with a cheaper United card.
