Our take

The Platinum is a debt payoff tool, not a rewards card, and it is unusually well built for that one job. You get 12 months at 0.99% on balance transfers with no balance transfer fee at all, which matters because most issuers charge 3% to 5% up front and quietly erase part of the savings before you make a payment. Just as important, the ongoing APR of 10.24% to 18% is low enough that you are not falling off a cliff when the promotional window closes, which is the usual failure point with 0% intro offers. There is no annual fee and no foreign transaction fee, and a rental car collision damage waiver for rentals of 15 days or less plus 24/7 travel and emergency assistance are the only extras. Be clear about what you are getting: this card earns nothing, so open it with a payoff plan and keep a rewards card for spending.
