This is the standard Discover it cash back structure in NHL packaging: 5% back on quarterly rotating categories, which for Q3 2026 covers gas, EV charging, transit, airlines, and drugstores, plus a 0% intro APR for 15 months on both purchases and balance transfers with no annual fee. The 5% is capped at $1,500 in spending per quarter and drops to 1% after that, so the ceiling is $75 in bonus cash per quarter, and you have to activate the categories every three months or you earn nothing extra. Everything outside the rotating category earns a flat 1%, which is below what a plain 2% card returns. There is no foreign transaction fee, but Discover acceptance is narrower than Visa or Mastercard, so it is a poor sole card for travel. Worth it if you will actually track the quarterly activations, and skippable if you will not.
