Atmos Rewards Summit

The Summit is built for frequent Alaska and Hawaiian flyers who will actually use the companion awards, starting with a 25,000-point Global Companion Award every anniversary and a second 100,000-point award if you spend $60,000 in a card year. The current welcome offer is 80,000 points plus a 25,000-point companion award after $4,000 in 90 days, down from 100,000 points as of early July, so the entry point is less generous than it was. Earning is respectable at 3 points per dollar on dining and on foreign purchases, but the headline 3 points on airlines is limited to Alaska and Hawaiian, and everything else earns 1 point. The $395 annual fee is the real hurdle: the 8 Alaska Lounge passes, $120 Global Entry or TSA PreCheck credit, free checked bag and preferred boarding for you and up to 6 guests, and $50 delay vouchers are useful, but they are almost all Alaska-specific. It sits at #11 on our Best Travel Credit Cards list, which is about right for a card this good within one airline's network and this limited outside it.
