The Summit is the top Alaska/Atmos card, and the value is in the perks, not the 3x earn: a 25,000-point companion award every year, free checked bags, Alaska Lounge passes, and a Global Entry credit. At $395 it justifies its fee for frequent Alaska or Hawaiian flyers, but light flyers are better served by the $95 Ascent, which keeps the same 3x on airfare without the lounge-heavy benefits. The six-figure intro bonus is one of the larger airline offers, but the perks only pay off if you fly the network regularly.
